Although St Neots Museum is always free to local residents, this special Heritage Open Days event means visitors and tourists from outside the local area will also be able to explore the museum completely free of charge.

Located in the heart of St Neots, the museum tells the story of a busy market town on the River Great Ouse, tracing its history from prehistoric times through to the present day.

Visitors can explore the museum’s collection, discovering the people, places and stories that have shaped St Neots over the centuries. Housed in a former Victorian police station and Magistrates’ Court, the museum itself is also an important part of the town’s heritage, including its original early 20th-century prison cells.

Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, giving people the opportunity to explore historic places and discover stories from their local area.
