Living History Day 2005!
The Living History Day was held on 18th September 2005 from 10.00am - 4.00pm at the Priory Centre, St Neots
This section is split into the following areas:
What Was On?
The aim of the day was for local people to travel back in time and meet some of the amazing characters from the town's past.
Here are just some of the the things that took place on the day:
- Meeting a Roman and trying on some replica Roman armour
- Dressing as an Anglo Saxon and discovering when they came to town
- Listenening to our group of wandering medieval minstrels and finding out about the 'pop' music of medieval St Neots
- Finding Jack Greene the Tudor herbalist and trying your hand at making some Tudor medicine
- Watching a sword display by English Civil War soldiers and finding out how this weapon was used in the battle of St Neots in 1648
- Meeting a group of Georgian Redcoats with their families camping nearby
- Watching a World War II fashion show and then trying your hand at the dance moves of the 1940s.

- 10.00 - Official opening from the Deputy Mayor
- 10.15 - Medieval Music
- 10.45 - Lindy Hop Jitterbug Dancing - dance taster session followed by a Dance demonstration
- 11.30 - Napoleonic Musket Firing Demonstration
- 12.30 - Medieval Music
- 2.00 - Napoleonic Musket Firing Demonstration
- 2.30 - Lindy Hop Jitterbug Dancing - dance taster session followed by a Dance demonstration
- 3.00 - World War II Fashion Show.
