Exhibitions

As well as our regular exhibitions by local artists, in 2008 the Museum will be bringing you:

'Summer on the Farm'
21st June — 4th October

100 years ago, many of the people who lived in and around St. Neots worked on farms – even children worked on farms after school and in their holidays. This is still a farming area, but a lot has changed over the last 100 years. Find out more in this museum exhibition – for instance:

  • What jobs are done on the farm in the Summer?
  • What did local farms look like 100 years ago – and 50 years ago?
  • What sort of tools and machinery were used on local farms?
  • What were the lives of farm workers like?
  • What sort of animals were kept and crops grown on local farms?
  • How does food get from the farmers fields to our dinner tables?

As well as photographs and objects, there will be ‘hands-on’ games and puzzles to have a go at, and a variety of activities and workshops through the Summer holidays (see Activities and Events above).
